Representatives of the City of Sveta Nedelja, Deputy Mayor Gabrijel Deak and Project Manager Martina Fabijan took part in a round table discussion on hydrogen as the gas of the future, geothermal energy and new technologies in the context of decarbonisation, which took place yesterday in Zagreb.
The use of geothermal energy in the Republic of Croatia is crucial for our transition to renewable energy sources. The City of Sveta Nedelja, as one of the first in the Republic of Croatia, has recognised this and is developing its project “Development of documentation for the geothermal water exploration phase in the area of Sveta Nedelja”, which is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 with national co-funding from the Republic of Croatia under the “Energy and Climate Change” Programme.

The project ” Development of technical documentation for the use of geothermal energy” is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 with national co-funding from the Republic of Croatia under the “Energy and Climate Change” Programme.
Sustainable development and protection of the environment are the goals of the project – once the projects following the drilling of the well and the acquisition of the exploitation field are completed, CO2 emissions will be reduced and energy will be used that is independent of weather conditions and the price of energy sources.
