The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development issued a decision on 16th June granting TD SVENKOM d.o.o. a permit for the exploration of geothermal waters in the SVETA NEDELJA 2 Exploration Area.
The permit for the exploration of geothermal waters in the SVETA NEDELJA 2 Exploration Area is valid for five years from the date this Decision comes into force.
The SVETA NEDELJA 2 Exploration Area is located within the territory of the cities of Sveta Nedelja and Sambor in Zagreb County, and covers an area of 22.95 km2.
In accordance with the Decision, the Investor is obliged to carry out the following minimum quantity and type of oil and mining works during the exploration period:
Analysis and processing of available geological, geochemical, geophysical, borehole and 2D seismic data in the area of the investigation area of SVETA NEDJELJA 2
Magnetotelluric surveying recorded at 30 magnetotelluric points
Processing and interpretation of the newly recorded magnetotelluric data, integration with the existing collected data
Drilling of the exploration well SVETA Nedjelja GT2 (SNGT-2) to a depth of 1250 m and testing of the exploration well for inflow.
On 15 March 2023, the Hydrocarbons Agency published a tender notice for the selection of the most favourable bidder for the exploration of geothermal water in the Sveta Nedelja 2 research area, in order to issue a permit for geothermal water extraction for energy use.
Working together for a green Europe | www.eeagrants.hr The city of Sveta Nedelja prepared the application, which was submitted by TD SVENKOM d.o.o., Sveta Nedelja, on April 17, 2023.
The city of Sveta Nedelja has secured funding for the “Development of documentation for the phase of geothermal water exploration in the area of Sveta Nedelja” Project from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014 – 2021, as well as national co-funding of the Republic of Croatia through the Energy and Climate Change Programme.
The total value of the project is EUR 372,006.43 and the eligible costs amount to EUR 316,205.47, i.e. 85%.
The project implementation period is from 13 April 2022 to 13 April 2024.
The project is planned to be carried out in cooperation with the construction company Svenkom d.o.o., as well as with our Icelandic partners – EFLA Consulting Engineers and Eko plodovi d.o.o. (partner in the Republic of Croatia).
